BREAKING Ekin Su and Davide steal Love Island 2022 victory from Gemma and Luca at the end of the series

Ekin Su and Davide were crowned the winners of Love Island 2022 in a biting end to a racy season.

The four couples who stayed at the Love Island villa competed to the bitter end to see which romantic duo would take home the prize money.

In the finale episode on Monday night (August 1, 2022), fans saw all four pairs open up to each other like never before.

The Islanders were also dressed in glitz and glamor for the summer ball before the end of the final.

Ekin Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Saclimenti – both 27 – were fan favorites heading into the final.

They were up against Luca Bish, Gemma Owen, 24 and 19, who viewers also enjoyed. There’s also 26-year-old Dami Hope and 23-year-old Indiyah Polack, who were paired up early on. Let’s not forget Tasha Ghouri, 24, and Andrew Le Page, 26.

Before the result, the Islanders prepared for the evening’s spectacular and glamorous summer ball. Not only that, but they also dove into a salsa lesson – which likely helped their moves on the dance floor in the final episode.

The four couples danced the night away in their lavish attire at the Love Island finale tonight.

During the summer ball, Indiyah led the glamor of the four girls by stepping out in an embellished white dress – oozing bridal and wedding vibes, perhaps?

The gorgeous number hugged her curves as she led the way in the designer number.

Ekin Su chose a pale pink dress with a long slit on one side to show off her curves. As for Gemma, we saw her choose a black dress with a thigh-high split and asymmetrical sleeves.

We also can’t forget Tasha’s stunning sparkly black dress, shimmering on the Love Island night, paired with matching gloves.

Emotional statements

Afterwards, we were then taken on an emotional rollercoaster as the four couples read their statements to each other one by one.

While fans at this point likely wanted all four to win, it was unclear how any pair could win the crown.

Dami appeared emotional as Indiyah read her statement to him, the two were the strongest from the start.

Tasha and Andrew also had an intense time with each other before they kissed.

Love Island airs tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub. Episodes are available the next morning on BritBox.
