Melissa McCarthy recently gave an interview to promote her new movie “The Starling”, where she spoke about her friendship with Meghan Markle. The Hollywood actress had appeared in the launch video for Meghan’s 40×40 initiative in August, which aimed to help women re-enter the workforce after the Covid-19 pandemic. During the 2-minute comedy sketch, the Duchess and McCarthy joked about getting matching tattoos and having a party on a yacht to celebrate Meghan’s 40th birthday.
Meghan Markle celebrated her 40th birthday on August 4, and marked the occasion by launching her latest project.
As part of the video, Melissa McCarthy asked the Duchess, “Do we finally have matching tattoos?” to which Meghan replied in a teasing tone: “I mean, I already have something really similar on my back.”
Speaking to Access Hollywood, Melissa McCarthy joked, “I’m still going ahead, I told her I did half the tattoo.
“Unfortunately part of his face was in a crease, I’m not going to say where, but I’m trying to get it corrected and I’m just waiting for my invitation to the yacht.”
Before presenting her 40×40 initiative, Melissa McCarthy suggests different ways for Meghan to celebrate her 40th birthday.

These included a yacht party and costume reunion, with the bridesmaids star sipping tea and wearing a hat and gloves while speaking to Meghan via Zoom.
Prince Harry also appears in the background of the video, shown juggling through a window.
Melissa McCarthy gave another Access Hollywood interview shortly after the video posted on the Archewell couple’s website, saying, “She’s doing such an amazing thing to celebrate her 40th birthday. I love her saying” Oh what can I do to make it good [into the world] and help some people. ‘”
She also gave behind-the-scenes details of Prince Harry’s cameo, revealing: “Harry is coming up and he’s like ‘I can juggle! “He said to me, ‘Is it going to be weird if I stay outside juggling?” And I was like,’ Weird in a way that’ll make me look five million times. ‘
In a statement posted on their Archewell website, the Duchess of Sussex said women had “borne the brunt” of the pandemic, taking on the extra unpaid work of childcare and home schooling.
She noted that in the United States alone, more than 2 million women had quit their jobs during the Covid-19 pandemic.
In order to help women re-enter the labor market, she asked for “40 friends, activists, athletes, artists and world leaders to help launch a global effort “by offering 40 minutes of mentoring to an unemployed woman.
Among the influential people who agreed to participate were Hillary Clinton, Amanda Gorman, Stella McCartney and Adele.
